FEP-5
A 0.005" thick Teflon® film that is chemical resistant, abrasion resistant, moisture resistant, and non-flammable.
Overview
- Extremely low-outgassing properties
- Can withstand extremely low and moderately-high temperatures
- Two types available; one for bonding of other materials and the other for extra flexural endurance
The FEP-5 material is a clear, fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP) film. This jacketing is lightweight at only 0.005” thick, yet durable with resistance to abrasion and moisture as well as being self-extinguishing. This material excels in aerospace applications due to the low-outgassing properties and the ability to survive in temperatures ranging from -238°F to 401°F (-150°C to 205°C).
Our FEP-5 material is available in two types: Type I, which meets ASTM D-3368, Type II, Grade 1, and allows bonding to other materials; and Type III, which meets ASTM D-3368, Type III and is designed for applications requiring extra flexural endurance.
