Job Description

The Quality Assurance Manager will report to the General Manager and will be responsible for developing, implementing, communicating, and maintaining the Company’s Quality Systems and Policies in compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO/TS 16949 quality system requirements. The manager will work with other personnel to train all company personnel in the requirements, documentation, and maintenance of the corporate quality system, and will actively participate in product development teams to provide design control quality assurance functions as well as support manufacturing. The manager will serve as the Company’s Quality Representative and will chair Management Reviews.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership for developing and maintaining the Company’s Quality Management System to assure all Quality System requirements, as well as Customer requirements, are met.
  • Maintain documentation related to Quality system and ISO/TS guidelines.
  • Serve as the Company Quality Representative including chairing MRBs and management reviews.
  • Create Department Procedures and Instructions as needed, to implement quality control requirements.
  • Participate with customers’ Quality Assurance representative to provide maximum customer satisfaction with our services and products.
  • Manage and maintain the Company’s internal quality audit program and assess improvement initiatives resulting from all Quality Audits, internal and external.
  • Manage and maintain the quality aspects of the Design Control Program including but not limited to design input and output documentation, applicable risk analyses, verification and validation activities, and formal design reviews.
  • Support new product development, continuous improvement and design cost reduction activities by integrating quality (Six Sigma) tools in the process.
  • Prepare and submit Customer PPAP’s and First Article Inspections, utilizing AIAG and VDA, as well as Customer Specific documentation requirements.
  • Manage and maintain the Company’s quality inspection and product release programs for 1st Pc Approval for Automotive parts, in-process materials, components, and finished goods.
  • Manage and maintain the Company’s Product Complaint Systems.

Qualifications:

  • A thorough knowledge of and practical experience with ISO 9001 & ISO/TS 16949 and related quality standards.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance in a manufacturing ISO/TS environment.
  • Must possess effective communication skills for contact with vendors, customers and internal departments.
  • Must possess effective computer skills; MS Office for presenting, reporting and communicating daily.
  • Practical experience with DOE, risk management, FMEA, product testing, capability studies, and control plans is required.
  • Training and knowledge of Six Sigma techniques and lean manufacturing desirable.
  • Certification as a VDA Auditor and (VW) Product Safety Officer (PSO / PSB) desirable
  • Requires a motivated individual who is capable of multitasking and is able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Requires a hands-on individual that will work both on the production floor and in an office environment. Individual must possess the ability to bend, stoop, lift, climb stairs and work in a sometimes loud open air-conditioned warehouse type facility.
