TCF-20 (Z)

Medium Duty Towed Cable Fairing, Z-Track Closure, To 5 Knots
The TCF-20(Z) Towed Cable Fairing is designed to significantly reduce the vibration, acoustic noise and drag created by water movement across a towed fish cable. The single-row fin design improves the hydrodynamic flow characteristics across the cable, reducing vibration and "strumming" because each independent, flexible fin is free to assume the most favorable flow orientation. In addition, where multiple cables are used the fairing bundles all into a single streamlined package for easier handling and even greater drag reduction. The TCF-20(Z) features a 20-mil wall jacket and the Z-Track closure system and is intended for use under moderate sea conditions and tow speeds up to 5 knots. The material offers good wear resistance, high tear strength, flexibility, oil and hydrocarbon resistance in addition to being impervious to salt water. The fairing lengths and flexibility allows for an easy installation and is the answer to many light duty, towed cable problems. Refer to Zippertubing’s installation document ZT07-98-002.
